Jelentkezés nyitvaRecognising Emotions in Early Childhood
The biggest challenge of early childhood (for both parents and children) is emotional regulation.
Cecilia Tarkovács Parenting Counsellor, Parent Coach

What’s it about?
The greatest challenge of early childhood (for both parents and children) is emotional regulation. It involves managing sudden, intense emotions, one of the aims of which is to regulate behaviour in order to ensure social acceptance. But how can we teach them this as early as possible, when we often struggle to manage our own emotions?
One of the fundamental prerequisites for learning is a sense of acceptance. However, few of us grew up with a style of communication that reflects acceptance rather than discipline, belittling or persuasion. Yet it is during early childhood that children are most receptive to learning the basics. It is therefore worth our while to relearn emotional recognition in good time.

If you’d like to find out the answers to the following questions
- What does ‘emotional recognition’ mean?
- How does it help with communication in early childhood?
- What effect does this have on a child’s willingness to cooperate?
- How can you reduce tantrums, outbursts and defiance?
- Is it possible to lay down rules based on emotional recognition?
- In certain situations, what sort of example sentences might be helpful?
Parents’ views
„As well as the useful information, I really liked the fact that I could watch it again, so I was able to fully take in the material. It’s well worth it – there’s a great need to acknowledge emotions, and it will lead to better relationships with the children.”
Annamari
„It presents everyday situations and provides many useful tools for recognising these situations and responding appropriately. Everyone thinks that tantrums are just part of being a child. But what is a tantrum? What triggers it? The seminar clearly demonstrates that even very young children are capable of understanding what we’re saying. They’re capable of cooperating. They simply want us to understand what emotions a particular situation triggers in them, and to explain this to them.”
Orsolya
„It was detailed, I could really relate to it, and it was practical. It encourages parents to be creative :-)”
